- This Friday In Twentynine Palms, the Rim of the World Fighting Scots face-off against the Twentynine Palms Wildcats for the first round of the CIF Playoffs. In their previous meeting the Wildcats were shut out 38-0 against the Scots defense, Rushing for a total of 61 yards on 19 carries and giving up 4 interceptions. When asked about how the Scots defense plans to repeat the performance from their last game, Defensive End Oracio Bacio had this to say,
“A big defensive game for me is giving the ball to my offense as much as I can…The wildcat offense has improved but so have we, I expect this [game] will be one to remember.”
The Fighting Scots offense has been relentless this year averaging 360.5 yards a game rushing, along with 65 touchdowns on the year due mainly to the Scots Awe- Inspiring Running back, Jacob Taylor. He is ranked first in the state and eighth in the nation according to Maxpreps.com. A big game from him is expected but in their last game against the Wildcats, Jacob only had 67 yards on 16 carries with 1 touchdown most likely due to his broken hand at the time. The star running back commented on his expectations of tomorrow night saying,
“As you know, that was an all-time low for me but I’m going to run my hardest and follow my line. My job is difficult but my line really helps make it look easy.”
Guaranteed, We’ll keep a close eye on his performance as the night develops.
